The Brave Station · Logo directions · Round 4Draft for review

Where Brave Journeys Begin.

Three logo directions, seven options

Directions 1 and 2 develop the two options you chose in round 3, 01.2d and 01.3. Direction 3 is new: the same stair and North Star, told so that success means reaching the goal rather than walking to the top, with the help of the team.

Every option shares one drawing style, one North Star and the same two wordmarks, so any symbol can be paired with either wordmark, with or without Arabic. Try combinations in the mix and match section.

What changed since round 3

The round 3 drafts were the right ideas, drawn too roughly to work as a logo. These fixes apply to every option.

FiguresEvery figure is redrawn on one skeleton with real proportions for its age, in one stroke weight shared with the stair. No white outlines, so no seams where limbs overlap.
The babyNo longer lies flat (it could read as a fallen child). It is now in tummy time, head raised.
The toddlerIn 01.3 the toddler looked as if slipping down the stairs. Now the pose clearly pulls up and reaches.
North StarSolid gold, larger, and the only star. The beige and grey halo and the star on the I are gone.
WordmarksTwo new wordmarks in Sora with calmer weight contrast: W1 on one line, W2 stacked. W2 fixes the wide-wordmark problem in horizontal layouts.
ArabicOptional bilingual versions with محطة الشجاعة in Readex Pro, a typeface that matches Sora’s geometry. The English logo stays primary; the Arabic can be dropped without redrawing anything.
Small sizesA shared small mark (three steps and the star) for favicons and anything below 32 px.

Direction 1

Refined Stairway

Developed from 01.2d

Growth told in stages on one staircase, ending with a child reaching for the North Star.

1A

Three stages

A baby in tummy time with the head raised, a toddler crawling and reaching for the next step, and a child climbing toward the North Star.

Small mark at 16 px
16 px small mark

Strengths

  • Tells the whole journey, from the first months to climbing.
  • Closest to the direction the client chose.

Watch out for

  • Three figures need room: below 48 px use the small mark.
  • Leans toward early childhood; older patients are not shown.
1B

Two stages

The crawling toddler and the climbing child. The same story with one figure fewer.

Strengths

  • Simpler and holds up better at small sizes than 1A.
  • The two poses still read as growth.

Watch out for

  • Drops the infant stage, which is close to the founders’ own story of prematurity.
Direction 2

Toddler Stair

Developed from 01.3

One small child at the first step, making the effort to reach a goal that is still ahead.

2A

Kneeling reach

A toddler kneels at the first step, one hand on the tread and the other reaching for the star far above.

Small mark at 16 px

Strengths

  • The effort is visible, as the client asked, and reads as reaching, not falling.
  • One figure: the simplest mark in Directions 1 and 2.

Watch out for

  • The star is far away: it reads as a goal ahead, which suits the story but feels less resolved.
2B

Cruising

A toddler stands holding the first step and reaches up: the moment of first standing.

Strengths

  • Brighter and more hopeful than 2A.
  • A real milestone families recognise.

Watch out for

  • Standing is a goal some children will not reach. 2A keeps that open.
Direction 3

Within Reach

New this round

The goal is reaching the star, not walking to the top, and the help to get there is part of the picture.

3A

Lifted

A therapist kneels and supports a child standing on the first step. The child reaches for the star.

Strengths

  • Shows the team’s help, which neither round 3 option did.
  • Matches the hands-on, intensive model of care.

Watch out for

  • Two figures meet in the middle: needs 48 px or more to read.
3B

Together

A parent holds a toddler’s hand at the foot of the stairs. The toddler reaches up toward the star, still ahead of them.

Strengths

  • Families as part of the clinical team, a line from the client’s own philosophy.
  • The goal is still ahead: the journey is just beginning, which fits Where Brave Journeys Begin.
  • Warm and immediately clear.

Watch out for

  • The adult could be read as the only carer, not the clinical team.
3C

Seated

A child sits on the top step and reaches up; the star is just above the hand.

Strengths

  • Success is reaching, not walking, so every child at the centre is included.
  • One figure and the clearest silhouette at small sizes.

Watch out for

  • Calmer: it shows less of the struggle the client liked in 01.3.
3B

3B in square spaces

New

The same drawing, composed for avatars and app icons. The treads are narrower and the star is closer, but still out of reach. At icon sizes the figures are about 1.6 times larger than in the wide symbol.

New

“The first step, together.” A five-second intro, then a gentle loop. It runs in the browser as a lightweight vector file, and comes as a GIF for email and WhatsApp.
